Victory for Tyler

April 11th, 2011

I’m a little late on this post since the show has been up for a few days now and I missed the technical “opening” all together due to a wedding, however….

I am in a Tyler Alumni group show at the Crane Arts Center this month.  The show was curated by Robert Storr, who is a pretty big deal.  Dean at Yale, curator at MoMa, etc etc.  I’m really excited to have been included. AND there is a cute little catalog of the show.

We will be at the Crane for the Second Thursday events this coming Thursday (the 14th 6-9pm).  So if you are in the neighborhood, you should stop by!  Or you can check out any of the other events listed below.

Las Vegas

May 4th, 2010

Carina and I went to Vegas to shoot a wedding a couple weekends ago. The wedding was awesome, but we had some fun otherwise.  Our hotel had a shark tank waterslide and a hot tub.  It was in old Las Vegas as opposed to the strip. So we hung out mostly around there, but we did go down to the Strip for a minute to go to brunch at Bouchon (!) and the amusement park in Circus Circus. Anyways, here’s some photos !

Not to breeze through any of these weddings, cause they were all fantastic, but I think I’ll just post my favorites just to catch up!!

So here they are…

Election Day

November 6th, 2008

My sister and I spent most of the day at a polling location in Port Richmond, with the occasional breaks to knock on doors and get snacks.  I expected the worst from this spot in Philadelphia; it is not know for it’s fondness of African Americans.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I had a great day meeting voters and talking to both the Republican and Democratic Committee members who were also working.

The best part of the day, however was arriving home right as the polls were closing to see that Pennsylvania was being colored in Blue. Shortly followed by Ohio, which pretty much ended it. It felt so good to have been a tiny part of this campaign.

So, here is a photo from the inside of the Fishtown canvassing office.  These people are amazing.  I hope everyone there (and all the other people that worked so hard knocking on doors and making phone calls) are taking a well-deserved vacation right now.

And because I can’t help myself, a photo of Boris in his Obama bandana

Obama Rally

October 23rd, 2008

A couple weekends ago Barack Obama held 4 rallies in Philadelphia. One in Germantown, one in North Philly, one by Temple and one in West Philly.  We went to the one in West Philly, along with 10,000 other people.  It was awesome, although the only thing I could see was the backs of people’s heads, or their children perched on shoulders.  I was also only able to bring the tiny camera, but I still took a handful of photos.

Katie and Drew

September 16th, 2008

We fell in love with Katie and Drew the first time we saw them.  They weren’t planning on having a wedding photographer at all, but after talking to Carina and I for a few minutes, they decided to let us.  I loved their wedding! They looked great and were so laid back about everything.  There was a quick ceremony in the park full of Katie’s crazy Canadian relatives, then a reception in the sanctuary at Fleisher Art Memorial. It sounds backwards, but it was perfect.

Plus, I have to love anyone that has their dogs in the wedding party.

Gwen and Ken

May 29th, 2008

Gwen and Ken got married a few weeks ago and Carina and I were lucky enough to be the photographers for the event. The ceremony was in a gorgeous old synagogue on Broad Street and the reception was near Rittenhouse. It felt like our first real “Philadelphia” wedding, complete with Love Park and City Hall photos. Here are a few images from the evening.

Unbridaled – Wrap Up

February 22nd, 2008

Here are a few images from the expo.  There was so much good food, cute rollergirls and awesome dresses.  We also made a lot of connections with local business folk, which was so great.   We had a great time and can’t wait until the next Unbridaled event.
